Sousa sounds march, simple.

Elgar sounds more serious.

Sousa has only music for wind band. (Elgar, Sousa)

Walton sounds more complex.

Elgar sounds more romantic, brutal, more simple melodies.

Only Elgar has elegy for strings, march in this game.

Comparing vocal pieces: Elgar Sea pictures is for solo mezzo-soprano and sounds descriptive. (Elgar, Walton)

This is an interesting comparison of romantic french Berlioz, post-romantic english Elgar and modern russian Shostakovich.

Please see comments to islands comparing pairs of these composers. (Berlioz, Elgar, Shostakovich)

This is an interesting comparison of two energetic composers: romantic french Berlioz and post-romantic english Elgar. Berlioz Harold in Italy sounds like a viola concerto in some parts. Only Elgar has cello concerto.

Berlioz seems to be more melodic, fast-developing and Elgar seems to be more polyphonic, complex, repetitive and have more atmospheric pieces. Elgar melodies seem to be less smooth and more leaping.

Comparing vocal pieces: Elgar Sea pictures is for solo mezzo-soprano and sounds descriptive. Brelioz vocal pieces are more dramatic and can contain several voices.

This island seems difficult to me, I would be glad if someone posts useful recommendations here. (Berlioz, Elgar)

Compare late romantic english Elgar to modern russian Shostakovich. Elgar does not have solo piano on this island, but beware the solo piano parts of Elgar's Sea pictures. Only Shostakovich has piano concerto in this game. Shostakovich is more complex, tragic, dissonant, melodic, fugue. Elgar is more consonant, rhythmic. Both have cello concertos. Do not repeat my mistake and think that Elgar will sound like simple romantic in this comparison. (Elgar, Shostakovich)

An interesting comparison of two post-romantic english composers.

Elgar - cello concerto, march, energetic, expressive, percussive, anti-folk. RV Williams - english folk, oriental, atmospheric. Elgar sounds more complex and polyphonic on this island. You can hear linear oriental solo strings in some RV Williams pieces. Elgar pieces sometimes can sound dancing, like for example Serenade and in some places of Enigma variations. Although generally Elgar did not like folk music, sometimes his melody can sound very song-like, e.g. Pomp and Circumstance March, but in this piece you will hear strick rhythm.

On this island atmospheric pieces will statistically more often belong to RV Williams, but do not forget about Elgar Elegy for strings. RV Williams Wasps start sounds like real wasps flying! Wasps sounds rhythmic, but not that heavy and strict like Elgar. (Elgar, RV Williams)

Bruckner sounds more serious, dissonant, polyphonic, complex, symphonic. Elgar - energetic, expressive, lyric. On this island you will compare Bruckner mass to Elgar songs with orchestra and piano (Sea pictures). March and cello concerto go to Elgar. Elgar also has very atmospheric elegy. (Bruckner, Elgar)

Bruch has only string concertos (mainly violin and also cello) and viola/clarinet/piano trio in this game. Elgar - cello concerto, orchestra, march, vocal (with orchestra and piano). Bruch is more simple, romantic, trills, coloratura. But Bruch Kol Nidrei is a more serious cello concerto. Elgar is more serious, post-romantic, wide, complex, orchestral. But Elgar also has dancing Serenade. Cello concertos can be most difficult to guess in this game. (Bruch, Elgar)
