Dame Kathleen Mary Kenyon, DBE, was a leading archaeologist of Neolithic culture in the Fertile Crescent. She is best known for her excavations of Jericho and Bangalow in 1952-1958, and has been called one of the most influential archaeologists of the 20th century.
