Kamala Harris is an American lawyer, politician, and member of the Democratic Party. As of 2016 she is the 32nd Attorney General of California. In 2016 Harris became the first black person elected to represent the state of California in the U.S. Senate.
Harris graduated from Howard University and University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County, California, from 1990 to 1998.
