Borodin sounds simple, rhythmic, repetitive, russian dance. Borodin quartet sounds abstract

Dvorák sounds more subtle or energetic, sweeping, melodic and romantic.

Only Dvorák has piano without vocal.

Watch out for Borodin's Prince Igor, where language can sound not russian sometimes. (Borodin, Dvorák)

Only Borodin has vocal, string quartet. (Borodin, Glazunov)

Very simple island.

J Strauss II is mainly waltz. Watch out for J Strauss II Wein weib und gesang, which can sound broader.

Borodin also has energetic dance-like music, but generally his music is more folk, broad.

Only Borodin has string quartet in this game.

Use language to distinguish vocal pieces. (Borodin, J Strauss II)

Although both composers are characterised as simple folklore melodic, Borodin is often more complex, post-romantic, even dissonant. Watch out for Borodin Dance of the Polovtsian maidens and Symphony 2, which are very dance energetic.

Glinka is more dance, simple melodic. Watch out for Jota Aragonesa, which is dark and slow.

In this game Glinka has only one vocal piece: Prayer (slow male solo vocal and choir).

Only Borodin has string quartet, piano song in this game. (Borodin, Glinka)

Beware of Shostakovich Gadfly suite, which sounds very simple and romantic. (Borodin, Shostakovich)

This is a very simple comparison of two russian composers: late romantic Borodin and modern Stravinsky. Both use folk melodies extensively.

Borodin is more simple, melodic.

Stravinsky is more rhythmic, dissonant, complex.

In the game you will hear Stravinsky vocal pieces in english, Borodin vocal pieces in russian.

Only Borodin has string quartet, piano song in this game.

Only Stravinsky has solo and concert piano. (Borodin, Stravinsky)

Only Borodin has piano song, string quartet in this game.

Only Prokofiev has solo piano, piano concerto, violin concerto, violin sonata, english vocal (Love for Three Oranges, Peter and the Wolf).

Prokofiev usually sounds energetic, quirky, but can also sound wide and atmospheric.

Borodin is generally more simple, folk, naive, sometimes eastern. (Borodin, Prokofiev)
