Alexander Scriabin RUS [1872-1915]
Group: Abstract
Short description: Phylosophycal, cosmic, abstract. First period resembles Chopin. Later tonality has been attenuated to the point of virtual extinction, although dominant sevenths, which are among the strongest indicators of tonallty, preponderate. The progression of their roots in minor thirds or diminished fifths dissipate the suggested tonality. Acoustic, octatonic, nine-note scales.

Scriabin is more phylosophycal, abstract, cosmic, less tonal.

Prokofiev is more rhythmic, tonal, closer to Stravisnky.

Only Prokofiev has opera, violin concerto, piano concerto. (Prokofiev, Scriabin)

Two post-romantic russian composers here.

Scriabin is more abstract, cosmic, less tonal.

Rachmaninov is more melodic, simple, clear.

Only Rachmaninov has vocal works here.

Scriabin has only solo piano works and a Mysterium in this game. Mysterium is more dissonant and chaotic than Rachmaninov works. (Rachmaninov, Scriabin)
